AYLUS Great Neck Branch Tutoring Week 33( 9/30/2024,10/1/2024)

On  9/30/2024 and 10/1/2024 the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted two tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

On Monday, 9/30/2024, the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted a tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Kylie and Summer worked on a student’s English, teaching concepts such as pronouns, passive/ active voice, and verb agreement. Sophia worked with an adult learning English on question words such as why, when, where, what. In addition, she taught the difference between first and last name. Sophia also taught the adult how to use studying tools such as duolingo, Rosetta Stone, and quizlet to retain the information learned in the tutoring sessions as well as to further learning. Overall, it was a productive tutoring session.

On 10/1/2024, the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted another tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Summer volunteered to teach a student math and worked through math problems using algebra concepts. Sophia worked with a third grader on his math and English homework, then read a book with him. Additionally, Sophia helped a student learning English to fill out permission slips and understand the writing and information for a field trip. Xingshi worked on homework with an elementary schooler. Overall, it was a productive tutoring session.
