AYLUS Queens Branch Volunteered at the Community Health Fair in Cunningham Park, Fresh Meadows on 9/29/2024

On September 29th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Queens branch took part in helping to set up and run a community health fair in Cunningham Park, Fresh Meadows. We started by assisting those running the stands through helping with tables, chairs, fliers, etc. Afterward, our volunteers went around the neighborhood to let people know about the health fair and blood drive that was going on.

Health fairs provide accessible resources and information that promote community wellness. They can offer free or low-cost health screenings, vaccinations, and educational workshops, helping individuals identify potential health issues early on and encouraging proactive health management. Health fairs also foster awareness about various health topics, such as nutrition, mental health, and chronic disease prevention, empowering participants to make informed lifestyle choices. Additionally, these events strengthen community ties by bringing people together around a common goal of health improvement, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more informed population.
