When we went to the garden today we noticed something looked different. This time the floor was covered in wood chips. This was for the kids as they love to run around playing and having fun in these gardens, but if you fall it would be very painful to skid across the ground. So to prevent this happening they put wood chips so you wouldn’t skid and therefore it was less painful. After we removed the weeds we realized many tomatoes were ready to be picked and eaten. So, we got a big plastic bag and started picking tomatoes and putting them in the bag, making sure they were red and not rotting. There were so many tomatoes that we ended up filling half the huge bag with tomatoes. The bag was very heavy, but then we realized there were more things than the tomatoes. It was green bell peppers! As we plucked the peppers one of our members noticed another pepper, which was a bit smaller than the other ones. This was because this pepper was not a green bell pepper it was a jalapeño! This was the first jalapeño we had found.
In the end we had fun taking care of the garden and making sure we had made the garden a better place for everyone else. Making sure the community had lots of fruits and vegetables to eat, like tomatoes, bell peppers, and since today we discovered that we have also provided the community with jalapeños.
