Frisco & Plano Branch Crochet Hats for Loops For Love Project on August 18 2024

Reported by Charlotte Chen

On the morning of August 18, 2024, AYLUS volunteers gathered at the Frisco Public Library for a crochet workshop. During the workshop, 2 AYLUS members taught other volunteers how to crochet a hat for the Loops for Love project. The other AYLUS members learned many crochet skills such as making a magic ring and double crochets. This project aims to help cancer patients undergoing therapy that causes hair loss by organizing volunteers to make handmade hats to donate. During this session, volunteers showed great improvement, and the AYLUS Frisco & Plano Branch hopes to continue improving their skills to make more hats to help more community members. Overall, this event was a great success with volunteers learning a lot more about how to crochet a hat.
