On 8/13/2024 and 8/15/2024, AYLUS Great Neck hosted two more tutoring sessions for students in the Great Neck Library Station Branch from 4:30pm-6:00 pm.
On August 13th, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS volunteered to tutor kids in math and an adult English. Henry, Zhaoxi, Kylie and Xingzhi taught middle school students the basics of algebra and helped them solve middle school math problems. and Sophia helped an adult speaking English. Overall, it was a very productive and collaborative session.
On August 15th, the volunteers successfully organized and completed another tutoring session. Sophia taught an elemantery school student how to divide with decimals. Kylie taught a middle school student how to do algebra with fractions. Zhaoxi talked with a high school student about problem-solve. Xingzhi talked with an other high school student about the school life. They especially focused on making sure their students understood the concepts and were engaged by their teaching.
