During the month of April and May, the Ridgewood AYLUS team participated in cleaning 14 benches in several Ridgewood Parks. We cleaned the benches in Veterans Park, Leuning Park, and Graydon Park. Months ago, we presented our idea to the Ridgewood Board of Parks and Recreation, and we were finally able to complete our mission. The benches were memorials to people who have unfortunately passed away, and we wanted to pay our respects by cleaning the benches, also because the benches were run-down and covered with moss. Our members used scrapers, sandpaper, water, and sponges in order to clean the benches. Throughout this process, many of our members made significant contributions and dedicated many hours of their time in order to benefit the people in our town.
