Reported by Jessica Lu :
On July 3rd, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped their local food bank.
Members went to sign in first before getting to work. They were assigned to the back area to help with the dry goods. Members started to prepare to bag the dry foods by carrying all the needed crates onto the table and organizing them. After everything was set up, members were assigned to a food crate and given the number of items they were to put in each bag. Members then formed a human assembly line and after some time of bagging, members bagged a total of about 190 bags of food. After, members took a quick break before being reassigned to put produce in the food boxes, in the fresh food area. Each box would contain about 10-12 oranges, 7-10 avocados, a bunch of bananas, a bag of apples or grapes, and a stalk of kale or a bag of limes. After finishing about 6 carts, members were reassigned again to distribute boxes outside. Members finished off by cleaning the tables and putting the carts back.
