On June 22, 2024, volunteers led a bucket drumming session for school-aged kids at GiGi’s Playhouse in Sugarland. This was the first session for the group at this location. Participants were first taught how to follow instructions, practicing “freeze” and keeping drumsticks quiet. They then learned different sounds by hitting various parts of the drum: the center, rim, and side. Additionally, they practiced striking the buckets with both sticks and alternating sticks. The session concluded with the children following the beats of a Disney movie song.
