Throughout April, AYLUS students handcrafted gemstone bracelets for fundraising efforts. These funds helped cover the shipping costs of books our organization is sending to Africa to build libraries for children through the African Library Project. As of now, we have built three libraries and are currently building our fourth. Some of the stones we’ve used are amethyst, hematite, and amazonite. We are extremely grateful to the students who spent their time making these bracelets to sell. It’s a hard task, as when I first started making bracelets the ones I made would either be too loose or not have enough stones. However, through lots of practice, I was able to improve my skills and make bracelets easily.
