On the Friday of March 15, 2024, we arrived at local TMMTD flea market to sell bracelets to fundraise for the children’s hospitals. There were 7 members of AYLUS that contributed towards the event. For some of us, this was our first time advertising some products for charity, but I can report that we were pretty successful! At the beginning, we were a bit shy. After speaking for the first time, we were able to gather our courage and we all stood at the table with the items and took turns speaking to the customers. The most popular options were the turquoise gemstone with a gold charm on them, the amethyst, and the translucent purple-green one. Overall, I’d say this is a great success, and I thank all of those who have helped.
Over the past few weeks, Ellie Zhou and Karen Zhou created over 40 gemstone bracelets, ranging in various types and colors. They brought the bracelets with them to a local flea market, where they were sold at TMMTD flea market to raise funds for children with cancer at the Children’s Medical Center in Plano. The volunteering event proved to be a rewarding experience that cultivated skills and promoted AYLUS spirit.
