On March 4 2024, AYLUS members picked up the last books from P.S 203 for the last book pick up.
Since many kids couldn’t attend during school hours or too late in the evening we did this event after the school day was over. We got to the school and picked up the books for the final time. There weren’t many books this time but after all we already took books many times so we had more than enough anyways, every single book we get is a step closer to achieve our goal.
We’d like to thank everyone who donated at PS 203 for helping our cause. We also like to thank the SO members of P.S 203, and a very special thank you to their teachers, Ms. Casper and Ms. Popvitz for their support in our goal, without you, this event wouldn’t be possible. Before we planned for our goal to be reached by the end of the school year but due to their support and motivation we reached our goal much faster than expected. They were very helpful and every single book they raised helped us to reach our goal. Without their help it would have taken much longer and probably past the school year
Special thanks to Ms. Newman, the P.S 203 security guard. Every time we come to pick up books she welcomes us and helps us pack the books up. She also makes sure the books are always there when we pick them up and always keeps them safe before our pickups. Even though sometimes our members are very loud she never gets mad. She’s always very helpful and patient with us when we pick up the books.
