Recycling can help to extract the raw materials from used batteries and forward them to manufacturing companies for reuse. This also brings down the cost of new batteries. As a result, recycling conserves resources, reduces pollution, and contributes to the economy all in one go.
During the week before the event, our members posted the AYLUS used batteries collection event on social media. We were able to pick up many used non-rechargeable batteries and some rechargeable batteries from our neighbors and friends. We sorted them into two boxes, one was for non-rechargeable batteries and the other was for rechargeable batteries. At 11:30 AM on January 20th, 2024, we gathered together at the Frisco Environmental Collection Center and recycled all non-rechargeable batteries into the collection container. We plan to recycle the rechargeable batteries at Home Depot once we receive more. Not only did we help the neighbors recycle used batteries, but we also spread the AYLUS spirit to the local communities.
