On Dec 29th, 2023, San Diego students of AYLUS organized a Bakery & Charity Sale activity. The goal of this activity is to raise funds to bring K-8 children’s books to children living in economically disadvantaged regions in Africa and build libraries in Africa to provide them with reading resources and education opportunities.
In order to support children in Africa, we are hosting this event to have volunteers sell out items with artwork printed on them and also student-produced desserts such as cookies and egg tarts to raise funds for the Libraries with Love program. We hope that the money we raised can provide more opportunities for students who have the desire to study to be educated.
There was a total of 7 volunteers participating in this event. The following students participated in the Bakery & Art Charity Sale event: Liuqing(Nina) Chen(2 hours), Max Yang(3 hours), Zhiyin Xu(2 hours), Derek Chen(3 hours), Gavin Zheng(3 hours), Steven Zhu(3 hours), and Sofie Duan(2 hours)
