On Sunday, December 17th, from 1:30 – 5:00 pm, the Roslyn Branch helped teachers from the Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island.
In the week before Christmas break, the AYLUS Roslyn branch volunteered at the CCA school in Long Island. Many parents of students had brought in gifts and snacks for everyone to share and enjoy. After class at 3, everyone was able to eat and have fun with their parents, and enjoy the last week before Christmas break with their friends.
As TA’s, it is important to make sure nothing goes wrong in the classroom with an extra number of people, and that everyone is able to meet their needs and ask questions. It is also important to check the ingredients on the snacks and ask students or parents about any allergies they may have. Some students may not know any better, and an accident might occur. To ensure an accident doesn’t happen, we must do our best to warn everyone about snacks that might cause allergic reactions, and make sure the safety of everyone in the class.
