AYLUS RC Branch Volunteers Brighten Lives at ALFC Generosity Center on 08/26/2023
On August 26, 2023, the AYLUS RC Branch continued their unwavering commitment to community service with 13 members gathering at the ALFC Generosity Center. This location remains a steadfast and vital service site for our branch, with monthly requests from the organizers, typically requiring 10 to 15 volunteers. This day was dedicated to food distribution at our designated location in the city, where free food is provided to those in need.
Upon our 8:00 AM assembly, the queue of vehicles waiting to receive food was already notably long. Adult volunteers skillfully directed traffic and maintained order among the vehicles, while our high school volunteers efficiently loaded each vehicle with the various food items allocated to their respective stalls.
The food distribution area was extensive, featuring a diverse array of food items, including stalls for vegetables, fruits, meats, bread, beverages, canned goods, and much more. Our high school volunteers, known for their strength and dedication, worked tirelessly to move and organize the wide variety of food items. Although the number of vehicles seeking assistance was substantial, our team persevered for five hours. We meticulously packaged and distributed food, ensuring that every vehicle was amply supplied.
Despite the intense weather conditions, our combined efforts resulted in the successful distribution of 400 portions of food within the allocated time frame. Witnessing the joy and gratitude on the faces of those receiving our assistance was the most rewarding aspect of the day.
Our dedication to this meaningful activity remains unwavering, and we are determined to continue making a positive impact in our community. We take pride in being a part of this unified force for good, always ready to extend a helping hand when it’s needed most. We eagerly anticipate future opportunities to serve our community and bring smiles to those in need.
