AYLUS RC Branch Volunteers at ALFC Generosity Center on 07/01/2023

On July 1, 2023, the AYLUS RC Branch once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community service as 20 members gathered at the ALFC Generosity Center. During the summer vacation, the demand for volunteers is especially high, and the success of our previous involvement prompted a request from the organizers for our assistance once more. Following discussions with our branch’s President, Yongxi Hu, it was swiftly arranged for another 20 members to assist with the day’s food distribution. The organizers expressed their heartfelt gratitude for our dedication to this cause.

Similar to our previous engagement, the 20 volunteers were divided into two groups. One group worked outdoors, overseeing the distribution of food, while the other remained indoors to help with food packaging. Despite the sweltering July weather in LA, our members approached the task with enthusiasm and determination.

Upon our 8:00 AM assembly, it was evident that the queue of vehicles waiting to receive food was exceptionally long. The adult volunteers took charge of directing traffic and ensuring orderly proceedings among the vehicles, while our high school volunteers were responsible for efficiently loading each vehicle with the various food items allocated to their respective stalls.

The food distribution area was extensive and offered a wide variety of food items, including vegetables, fruits, meats, bread, beverages, canned goods, and more. Our high school volunteers, known for their strength and determination, tirelessly moved and organized the diverse food items. The number of vehicles seeking assistance was substantial, but our team worked tirelessly for five hours. We meticulously packaged food, ensuring that every vehicle was fully provided for.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, our collective efforts succeeded in distributing 400 portions of food within the allotted time frame. The smiles and expressions of happiness on the faces of those receiving our assistance were the most rewarding part of the day.

Our dedication to this meaningful activity remains unshaken, and we are determined to continue making a positive impact in our community. We are proud to be a part of this united force for good, always ready to lend a helping hand when it’s needed most. We look forward to future opportunities to serve our community and bring smiles to those in need.
