In October, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) started its Winter Clothing Drive. No one should go cold this winter. The health effects of extreme cold are life threatening. The unprecedented crisis created by the COVID-19 Pandemic is still affecting the lives of millions of people. Families who were already struggling are now at severe risk, and many cannot pay their utility bills. The need for coats this fall and winter will be greater than ever before.
To provide winter clothing to more people in need across the State of New Jersey, GPA encourages its members to join this Winter Clothing Drive to help other people.
GPA VP Xing Liao (10/11, 2 hrs) and National Humanities Committee Chair Jerry Chen (10/11, 2 hrs) are leading this project, promoting the event and accepting clothing donations from multiple areas in the State of New Jersey, and nationwide. GPA has scheduled two deliveries of the donated items to local charity organizations, one is the Jersey Cares, and the other is Interfaith Rise for direct distribution of the needed clothes to refugees.
Many AYLUS branches (Greater Princeton, Basking Ridge, Duluth, Cheshire, Chapel Hill, Frisco & Plano, Auburn, Warren, East Cobb, Murrieta, Bridgewater, San Clemente, San Diego, Raritan Valley, Roslyn, Scottsdale, Fullerton, Greater Buffalo, RSM, Phoenix, Idaho Falls, Bergen, Triad, Greater Triangle, Oakland Garden, Syosset, Great Neck, Dix Hill, Pearland, Columbus, Oyster Bay, Morrisville, Manhasset, Woodbridge, Fairfax, Edison, Twin Cities, and more) have joined GPA for the 2023 Nationwide Winter Clothing Drive to help save Lives!
