On July 8th, 2023, the AYLUS Upper Manhattan Branch organized a Community Clean Up Day in collaboration with NYC Parks at Washington Square Park. This event was a testament to the branch’s commitment to community service and environmental stewardship.
As the sun rose over the iconic Washington Square Arch, members of the AYLUS Upper Manhattan Branch and enthusiastic volunteers gathered to make a positive impact on the park. Equipped with gloves, trash bags, and cleaning tools, the volunteers were eager to tackle the day’s tasks and beautify this beloved public space.
The event kicked off with a brief welcome and introduction by the AYLUS Upper Manhattan Branch leaders, expressing gratitude to all the participants for their dedication to the community. The NYC Parks organization representatives also joined in to share their appreciation and offer guidance on effective cleaning and conservation practices.
Throughout the day, the AYLUS volunteers worked tirelessly, weeding, pruning, and caring for the park’s green spaces.
