AYLUS Great Neck Branch Volunteers Play Sports with Kids at Firefighters Park 52nd (3/13/26)

On Friday, March 13th, 4:30-5:30pm, great neck volunteers played various sport activities with kids to help them socialize and felt the support of the community. It’s a cold evening in Firefighter park, the Sun is just about to hide its head across the horizon, darkness was illuminated by various colorful street lights, and wind blew with velocity as they traveled between the volunteers and Jack, our friend and long-time client of our volunteering activity. We played soccer, tag and went on the springs, all cold but felt the warmth of each other and smiles that almost seemed contagious. There’s not a bit of negative feeling around the park. We have ourselves and no other as we socialize and talk to Jack about every delightful anecdote in our boring life. Inciteful and inspired by his stories, Cody and Owen felt the need to support him every week and help him feel loved and supported. Even though 1 hour can’t really have detrimental effects on Jack. We hope that, step by step, we can lay his footsteps for a fun, happier future, bringing more smiles than he already has in his face.
