AYLUS Dix Hills Volunteers at Long Island Chinese School

On Sunday, March 8, the AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteered at the Long Island Chinese School as teaching assistants. Upon arrival, volunteers signed in at the front desk, then went to their assigned rooms to help the teachers with tasks like printing assignments, grading homework, and collecting work. With the help of the volunteers, the teachers could efficiently teach their students while the volunteers could do tasks that would take up class time. After class, volunteers went to help in the intermediate level elective chess classes, where they kept students quiet and focused. Volunteers spread out and set up the chessboards when it was time for the students to play games, then made sure there were no illegal moves made.

With the help of the AYLUS Dix Hills Branch, teachers had a better teaching experience while students focused more on them.
