Newtown AYLUSS Volunteers at Doylestown Hospital on 2/11/26

AYLUS volunteers worked alongside hospital staff to assist with transporting patients throughout the hospital for various appointments, tests, and procedures. Volunteers escorted patients from their rooms or waiting areas to departments such as radiology, diagnostic labs, and outpatient clinics. These transports helped maintain an organized flow of patients and allowed hospital staff to focus on clinical care.

While transporting patients, volunteers ensured that patients were comfortable and informed about where they were going. Volunteers often engaged in conversation to help reduce anxiety, especially for patients who were feeling nervous about upcoming procedures. Small interactions such as greeting patients, answering basic questions, and offering encouragement helped create a more positive experience for many individuals visiting the hospital.

Participating in this event gave volunteers valuable exposure to the fast-paced environment of a hospital and highlighted the importance of teamwork between volunteers, nurses, and medical staff to support patient care.

Volunteers: Eric Chen(Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each volunteer contributed 3 hours of their time.
