Today, members taught seniors how to turn off the recording mode during the phone call, find the mail on gmail and move the apps to different positions. There was also a question about how to use the phone and stay on the phone call at the same time. One member helped with general questions about using messages and phone apps. There were also questions about Facetime and controlling which audio source played sound. Another volunteer helped with issues in using an apple siri to play the radio, and how to navigate through gmail. Volunteers helped to resolve issues by demonstrating how to do these tasks and having the residents perform them by themselves.
Other than just helping the seniors with technology, volunteers connected with the seniors in their local community and found out what it truly means to be part of one. The seniors also gained a sense of community from this session, and connected with our volunteers.
