AYLUS Oakland Gardens Visits Forest View Center to Put on a Concert (2/21/2026)

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, AYLUS Oakland Gardens members visited Forest View Center to put on a concert for the elderly living there from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. as their 216th event. Our members tried their best with many instruments, such as the flute, piano, and more. Our members enjoyed performing, but the elderly seemed to enjoy it more.

Our members had put a lot of time into perfecting their craft. They spent countless hours learning their instruments and practicing their songs until perfection. Even our youngest member, Selina You, had learnt an instrument, the piano. As a result of their hard work, the elderly living there loved the performance. Our members serenaded them with many songs on different instruments, such as Boogie on the guitar and Egyptian Dance on the piano. They really seemed to like Skip to my Lou, as this aroused the largest round of applause.

At the end of the concert, our members took a group photo as everyone clapped. Once the photo was over, some elderly came over and personally shook hands with the members, congratulating them for the wonderful performance. They said we “did a great job” and that “we loved it”.

This concert was put on for Lunar New Year. We would like to thank the manager of Forest View Center for allowing us to perform there and the elderly for listening and encouraging our members to practice their instruments.
