On Tuesday, February 17th, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, AYLUS Roslyn Branch helped to pack, organize, and volunteer with NOSH Delivers. NOSH is an accessible organization, meant to distribute food from its nonprofit food pantry, established in March of 2020. This is an organization that provides food to homes that are struggling to buy groceries.
Upon our arrival at NOSH, we immediately got started with drawing on the KFIP bags, which are handed out to people that have kids who need lunch. These KFIP bags include either ramen or mac and cheese, plus a side of chips. We made the bags appealing, then packed them, then stocked the shelves with these bags. While we were doing this, we stayed organized and meticulous by counting how many bags were made and packed. Additionally, we kept bringing boxes of packed food like ramen and chips over to our packing table and prepacked bags from upstairs. Overall, we had a great time helping people in need and would definitely return.
