On Sunday, February 22, from 8:00 am to 10:30 am, members of the Aylus Roslyn Branch volunteered at C2C Robotics VEX V5 Push Back Qualifier at The Cradle of Aviation Museum. This competition is aimed to further develop our future engineers with designing, building, and programming.
When we arrived, we needed to disassemble the fields that had been set up for the competition 2 days ago. There were a total of 8 fields we needed to disassemble. We put the blocks away and sorted them based on their schools and we disassembled the fields and put them away.
Secondly, we cleaned up the pit area. This area is where the teams are stationed. When they leave, they might leave behind trash or parts. So we picked up the trash and the parts and threw them away.
Third, we ripped the wiring and cables from the floor that were connected to the fields and screens. We threw the tape away, rolled up the wires and cables, and rolled away the screens.
After doing that, we headed back downstairs to disassemble the tables the fields were sitting on. These tables had a lot of legs and supports so this took some time to do. These tables allowed the fields to be raised giving competition members comfort in looking at the field. After disassembling the tables, we put the legs away in boxes and carried them outside.
Finally, we carried all the fields, parts and snacks for the volunteers into cars to be sent away. We enjoyed being able to participate cleaning up after this amazing tournament and we hope we could do it again!
