On Friday, February 20th, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm, volunteers from AYLUS helped set up build fields for the upcoming robotics competition in the Cradle of Aviation Museum.
In the beginning of the activity, volunteers helped build tables for the base of the practice, skill, and competition fields. Volunteers had to help level out risen fields to insure that the robotics competition would flow smoothly. Then, volunteers started placing down and connecting foam mats together for the robots to move around on. Next, volunteers had to put plates under the mats and build walls around the mats so the robots wouldn’t leave the field. During this, we didnt have enough parts for one field; so some of us started to venture throughout the museum to find more parts. After that, volunteers started screwing goals and other structures into the plates under the mats. Overall, this whole activity showed us how teamwork and companionship can improve a project by a ton, it was a lovely team building experience and volunteers would love to go back.
