The Aylus Morris Branch proudly partnered with Helping Hands to organize and carry out a successful community food drive, demonstrating our continued commitment to service and local outreach. With thoughtful planning, coordinated promotion, and enthusiastic participation from members and supporters, the initiative resulted in the collection of over 38 pounds of canned goods and nonperishable food items. Donations included canned vegetables, beans, soups, pasta, rice, and other shelf-stable essentials that will directly support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in our community. Throughout the drive, branch members worked diligently to spread awareness, encourage participation, and ensure that all contributions met donation guidelines. The strong response reflected not only generosity but also a shared sense of responsibility to care for neighbors in need. On February 18 at 3:30 p.m., representatives from the Aylus Morris Branch personally delivered the collected items to the Helping Hands distribution center, where volunteers received and prepared the donations for sorting and distribution. Seeing the tangible impact of our efforts reinforced the importance of consistent, grassroots service initiatives. This partnership highlights the power of collaboration between youth-led community groups and established nonprofit organizations to create meaningful, measurable change. By mobilizing local support and channeling it toward a clear, community-centered goal, the Aylus Morris Branch helped strengthen the network of assistance available to families facing hardship. The food drive not only provided essential supplies but also fostered teamwork, leadership, and civic engagement among participants. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Helping Hands and look forward to continuing our shared mission of service, compassion, and community support through future collaborative projects.
