AYLUS Roslyn volunteers at the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County’s Bayville Location (31st) on February 15th, 2026

On Sunday, February 15th, from 10:30 PM to 1:30 PM, AYLUS Roslyn volunteers visited CP Nassau residents at their Bayville location.

We began the day by greeting all of the residents, as it had been a few weeks since our last visit. When we arrived, we were informed that the usual activities director was on vacation, so we had to take initiative. The residents were very excited to see us so they could participate in activities!

Our first activity was bowling, which the residents have enjoyed everytime we’ve brought it out. Each person took two to three turns bowling. We helped guide their hands when needed so they could knock down the pins. It was amazing to see how excited everyone got with each roll.

Next, we played with the toy axe and dart throwing set that our organization had gifted to the residents last year. One volunteer held up the target while another helped guide the resident’s hand toward the bullseye. Many residents showed impressive aim, and everyone had a lot of fun cheering each other on.

After that, we set up a few games, including ginat Connect 4 and beanbag toss. These games were great, creating a competitve and fun environment. The residents took turns, working together with both other residents and volunteers in order to try and win the game!

To end the day, we brought out the Wii and played a game of Jeopardy, which the residents request every time. Each resident chose categories and answered questions, and whether they got them right or wrong, everyone had a great time playing together.

We had a great time this week and we are excited to come back!
