Today our members helped one man regarding setting silence mode and fixed automatically filtering calls which had caused him to not receive any calls. The volunteer then gave explanations on silent and do not disturb mode. Additionally, the volunteer helped a customer regarding calling others and setting up find my so her children could see her location. The volunteer fixed the find my settings and wrote down instructions for using various phone functions and calling. Another volunteer helped with questions regarding how to lower the hearing aid volume, turn the rotate lock off in the ipad and what the red circle means in the messages. Finally that volunteer received a question on how to retrieve the history of a document. Another senior had issues with the camera app, how to easily access the flashlight, how to call others, send photos and create group chats.
Other than just helping the seniors with technology, volunteers connected with the seniors in their local community and found out what it truly means to be part of one. The seniors also gained a sense of community from this session, and connected with our volunteers.
