On February 8th, 2026, Mercer Island’s Chinese Association held an event to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year. AYLUS Lake Washington branch members Elissa Song and Emily Qi volunteered at the event for an non- profit organization called “CARES”, where they helped spread autism awareness through a quiz activity where they gave out prizes according to accuracy and quantity answered. They were able to not only get more people to understand what autism is, but also received donations to help families with autistic kids.
