Twin Falls (ID)

We are excited about starting a new AYLUS branch in Twin Falls, Idaho – an agricultural and
outdoor recreational city – because we want to create more opportunities for people of our age to
get involved in the community and do meaningful volunteer work. Our goal is to build a place
where students can explore their interests in helping out in the community while gaining valuable
skills like leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. We plan on having our branch
participate in various community service projects, such as volunteering at the local soup kitchens
and food banks, helping at animal shelters, and visiting nursing homes or senior centers.
Starting this branch is important to us because we realize how volunteering creates a significant
impact, not just to community members and places, but also on the volunteers themselves.
Volunteering builds empathy and develops confidence while strengthening connections with the
community. Volunteering also pushes youth beyond their comfort zones and teaches patience,
resilience, and adaptability, which can carry on and help with school, sports, and even future
careers. The experiences gained shape future goals, passions, and impact on the world. Many
students our age want to volunteer and give back to the community but don’t always know how,
and we hope to provide them with the opportunity to gain experience, and feel inspired to make a
difference in their community through this AYLUS branch. By starting this branch we hope to
spread and show people our age how small actions like volunteering can make a meaningful
difference. We hope that our efforts lead to more volunteering and making positive impacts on
our community.
