San Diego Branch Hosted 16th Egg Cartons Collection Event on January 31, 2026

We are helping 92130Cares, a non-profit organization that provides food to low-income families in 92130. Grocery stores are not allowed to remove broken eggs from a carton, so they donate the whole package to 92130Cares. 92130Cares repackages the good eggs into packages of 6, and the donated egg carton will be cut and used to help safely distribute eggs in our community, helping families in need.

Our branch will assist 92130Cares by collecting egg cartons each month and delivering them to their center.

By 1/31/2026, our branch had collected a total of 48 egg cartons.

I’m so excited—our Egg Carton Drive has officially reached its one-year mark this month! Although it may seem like a small effort, it has made a real, tangible difference in our community. Even some of our graduates continue to collect egg cartons from their homes and drop them off from time to time. Their volunteer service may have officially ended, but the spirit of serving the community continues to accompany them in life. This month, we also received egg cartons from our neighbors, showing that the support is still ongoing.

The following 17 volunteers participated on 1/31/2026 event, each received 1.0 volunteer hours.

Derek Ying, Zoe Ying, Ji-Na Sun, Ruiya Xia, Katherine Backues, Michael Wang, Jesse Zhong, Kevin Chen, Melody Chen, Maggie Hu, Ayden Liang, Cindy Hu, Brianna Zhang, Emily Wu, Sophia Wu, Eric Liang, Jonathan Guo, Charles Liu.
