Event 104: Aylus Morris Branch Partners with Chatham Library to Support Community Learning Through Book & Media Donation in January 2026

Aylus Morris Branch proudly partnered with the local community and Chatham Library to carry out a meaningful book and media donation initiative, demonstrating our continued commitment to education, literacy, and community enrichment. Through generous contributions from neighborhood families, the branch successfully collected a total of 180 books, 45 puzzles, and 15 DVDs, all thoughtfully donated to support the library’s resources for learners of all ages.

The collection process highlighted the strong spirit of community collaboration. Residents donated a wide range of items, including children’s storybooks, young adult novels, educational puzzles, and family-friendly DVDs. Each item was carefully reviewed by Aylus Morris Branch members to ensure it was in good condition and suitable for library use. Members organized, sorted, and packed the materials with care, reflecting the branch’s dedication to quality service and respect for community partners.

On the morning of January 19 11am, Aylus Morris Branch members delivered the donated items to Chatham Library. The delivery marked the culmination of weeks of planning, outreach, and teamwork. Library staff warmly received the donations and expressed appreciation for the volume and variety of materials, which will help expand access to learning and recreational resources for local families. The donated books, puzzles, and DVDs will be incorporated into library programs, lending collections, and community activities, benefiting students, parents, and lifelong learners.

This partnership with Chatham Library aligns closely with the mission of Aylus Morris Branch to promote education, encourage reading, and strengthen community connections. By transforming neighborhood generosity into tangible resources for a public institution, this initiative demonstrates how youth-led service projects can create lasting positive impact. Aylus Morris Branch looks forward to continuing collaborations with local organizations and inspiring community members to come together in support of learning and shared growth.
