Chess Workshop Volunteering

AYLUS Gainesville Branch — December 23, 2025

Jolie Huang and Coco Yao, members of the AYLUS Gainesville Branch, organized a free chess workshop at Tower Road Library on December 23. Both volunteers contributed 5 hours of active volunteering at the workshop.

During the event, the volunteers introduced players to basic chess principles and patterns and walked them through their thought process in many practice games. In addition, the volunteers created puzzles and friendly competitions to create a fun and interactive learning environment.

By connecting with local players and sharing their passion and expertise, the volunteers helped inspire young chess players to appreciate the game and explore new ways of thinking. Hence, reflecting AYLUS’s mission to make a positive impact while encouraging logic and civic engagement throughout the community.
