AYLUS Activity Report – Dance Class at Huagen Chinese School

Activity Description:
Members Jolie Huang and Coco Yao of the Gainesville AYLUS Branch held their weekly Sunday Dance Class at Huagen Chinese School. The volunteers co-taught the class, which lasted one hour, for kids of all ages.
During the class, the volunteers led warm-up, taught a dance that would be performed at a showcase later on in the year, demonstrated moves when necessary, and helped correct the students’ technique and form.
They strived to create a fun and positive environment that emphasizes the beauty and creativity of dance and hoped to encourage and inspire kids from their local community to be more confident in themselves.
