RCA members and friends recently held another Christmas concert at another local senior care home. Though smaller in scale, the performance created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the residents. Before the concert began, the students ensured the piano was properly set up and distributed programs throughout the performance room. Some of the audience went for an early dinner. The dinner room was connected to the performance room which was opened to the hallway with no doors and so they were still able to enjoy the music and expressed their pleasure about it after the students were done.
The program featured a thoughtful selection of Romantic, Classical, and contemporary Christmas music, offering a blend of familiar melodies and expressive works. The close setting allowed for personal connections, and it was especially touching to see the residents’ engagement and smiles throughout the concert. Afterward, the performers remained to speak with the seniors, answering questions and sharing stories. The experience was deeply rewarding for the students, who felt grateful for the opportunity to bring music and holiday spirit to the community through this more intimate performance.
