AYLUS Oakland Gardens Helps at Youth Orchestra at MS 158 (12/21/2025)

On December 21th, 2025, AYLUS Oakland Gardens had their 210th event at MS 158 with the youth Orchestra. During the event we welcomed people coming in to view and enjoy their winter concert, alongside passing out programs and fliers . This event took place from 2PM to 6PM.

The Youth Orchestra is a nonprofit organization, which aims to provide orchestral training and performing opportunities for young students in the field of instrumental music. They have four concerts a year and weekly rehearsals, showing their dedication. Many members of our own nonprofit organization, both students and parent advisors, are part of this group dedicated to spreading the joy of music.

Before the start of the event, our members met up with the leader of the orchestra. He guided our members, telling us what to do, and familiarizing us with the school. Our members then started to direct people arriving to the correct places, handing out fliers to promote the orchestra and programs so they could learn more. Some of our members held the door, while others welcomed people in and brought them to the auditorium. They were also kind enough to provide us with some food before we started our work.

One person who came in to watch the performance was in a wheelchair. Since there was no wheelchair entrance in that specific place, our members helped guide them to a more wheelchair-accessible place so everyone could listen and enjoy the festive music provided. The youth orchestra was pleased with our work and help. We offered to help them with our assistance whenever they wanted it or were in times of need.

We would like to thank everyone who came and helped out at today’s event. Thank you to the orchestra for teaching us and giving us this amazing opportunity to help out. Thank you to the parent advisor team for their guidance. Finally, thank you to all our members who showed up. We greatly appreciate all of you!
