The Melody Project – Sixth Performance Report
Reported by: Gavin Zheng

Date: December 6, 2025
Location: Carmel Mountain Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center

On December 6, 2025, The Melody Project held its inaugural performance at the Carmel Mountain Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. The mission of this initiative is to provide musical entertainment for senior residents while offering student musicians the opportunity to build confidence through public performance.

The Melody Project unites student musicians who are skilled in various instruments—including viola, piano, and vocals—and brings them to senior centers to perform. This mutual exchange allows seniors to enjoy live music, gives performers a meaningful platform to share their passion, and improving confidence performing publicly.

Upon arrival, the student musicians introduced themselves and provided brief descriptions of the pieces they would be playing. Each performer then took turns presenting their prepared selections to an attentive and appreciative audience. The event concluded with each student delivering a heartfelt message of gratitude to the residents for their time and support.

Performers:

Gavin Zheng (2.5 hours)
