This holiday season, the AYLUS Morris Branch proudly partnered with Toys for Tots to bring warmth, joy, and hope to children in need through a meaningful community toy drive. With the spirit of giving at the center of this effort, members worked together to plan, organize, and operate a collection initiative that encouraged families and neighbors to contribute new toys for children of all ages.
AYLUS student volunteers took the lead in setting up the toy drive station, creating clear signage, arranging collection bins, and spreading awareness throughout the community. They communicated the purpose of the drive, emphasizing the importance of donating new, unwrapped toys so that every child could receive a gift that felt personally special. Members also used social media, school announcements, and community networks to invite broad participation and inspire others to give back during the holiday season.
Over the course of the drive, the Morris Branch collected a total of 27 brand-new toys, ranging from board games and stuffed animals to STEM kits and creative art sets. Each donation represented the kindness of community members and the dedication of young volunteers committed to making a difference.
Once the collection period ended, AYLUS members gathered to sort, count, and carefully prepare the toys for delivery. On 12/6 afternoon 2:30pm, members transported the donations to the Westy Self Storage Toys for Tots collection site, ensuring that every toy would reach a child who could benefit from a moment of joy this holiday season. Their teamwork, organization, and positive energy reflected the true spirit of service.
This collaboration with Toys for Tots not only supported local families but also helped AYLUS members strengthen leadership skills, promote community engagement, and experience the impact of giving. The Morris Branch remains committed to continuing its tradition of service and spreading kindness throughout the year.
