AYLUS Basking Ridge held Tech Support program at Ridge Oak Senior Center on 12/1/25

AYLUS Basking Ridge held a Tech Support Program at Ridge Oak Center on December 1st, 2025. Although the day was quieter than usual—several seniors who had originally scheduled appointments were unable to attend—our volunteers made meaningful use of the time. The members who were present engaged in warm conversations with the seniors, answered their questions about school life and the college application process, and shared stories about Thanksgiving week events happening in the community. This casual interaction created a relaxed and friendly environment despite the reduced turnout.

This event had a meaningful impact on the Ridge Oak senior community. Many participants expressed their gratitude for the one on one tutoring, as it helped them feel easier to use the high tech device, and help them to connect to online resources and activities. By helping their step by step, seniors gained greater independence in accessing information and engaging with Ridge Oak’s online system. The session also filled the gap of intergenerational connections, as AYLUS members built positive relationships with the seniors through patient instruction and friendly conversation. Overall, the program successfully promoted digital inclusion and community engagement among Ridge Oak residents.
