Newtown members Volunteer at Local Library (23rd)

On Saturday, 11/22/2025, members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at the Bucks County Free Library – Levittown Branch from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. As a key resource for readers and learners of all ages, the library depends on a well-organized collection to support its community. During this session, volunteers focused entirely on organizing and reshelving books.

Volunteers worked carefully to return books to their proper locations and conducted shelf reading to ensure that titles were correctly sorted and easy for visitors to browse. This attention to detail helped improve the clarity and order of the library’s shelves, making it easier for patrons to find the materials they were seeking. By maintaining organization within the collection, volunteers helped create a more efficient and enjoyable experience for students, families, and everyday readers who rely on the library’s resources.

Their efforts also supported the library staff by reducing the time required for routine upkeep, allowing staff to dedicate more attention to assisting patrons and running programs. Through this volunteer work, members contributed to preserving the library as a welcoming, accessible, and community-centered environment.

Members who participated were David Soong (event leader, 2 hrs) and Edward Soong (2 hrs).
