On November 23, 2024 members of ALYUS Newtown branch hosted a card making event to be distributed by Caring for Friends, an organization sharing food and friendship with homebound, homeless, and hungry people in the greater Philadelphia area. From 4 PM to 6 PM, participants brought and shared color pencils, stickers, markers, templates, and ideas. Members customized their cards, making them unique by drawing uplifting pictures, adding colorful designs and writing thoughtful and joyful messages. Several dozen cards were designed and created.
The event was very successful. Everyone enjoyed the effort to support the community and bring cheer to the people in need. Participants also had an enjoyable time utilizing their creativity in card making and socializing with each other.
9 members of the AYLUS community all spent two hours participating in the event. They were Samuel Zhang, Randall Zhang, Albert Chen, Ivan Lee, Eric Chen, Lucas Wu, Justin Peng, Derrick Zhang and Zhenyi Zhang.
