On November 16th, 2025, AYLUS Syosset organized its 20th volunteer-led community basketball session at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park (11791). Volunteers guided children through one hour of basic basketball drills, including dribbling, passing, and shooting fundamentals suitable for mixed ages. During the second hour, older participants (ages 6 and up with some prior experience) joined structured scrimmage games, while younger children played nearby under parent supervision. This weekly program promotes physical activity, teamwork, and outdoor engagement for families in the Syosset community.
The event was supported by three youth volunteers—Gary (16), Rick (15), and Danny (13)—who assisted in organizing drills, supervising games, and helping maintain a safe environment. Participants included children ages 6–12 from Syosset
