AYLUS Great Neck Branch holds AAPI event at the Main Library 36th (11/22/25)

On Saturday, November 22nd, from 3:45 – 5:00 PM, members of the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted the AAPI event for kids at the Great Neck Main Library. Today, kids got the option to learn to build clay, learn crochet, do sand art, learn origami, or build paper stars after listening to stories. Stories were read by three volunteers, Rebecca read “The Happiness of a Dog with a Ball in Its Mouth”, Jolynn read “Hana’s hundred of Hijab’s” and JiangYuan read “A Taste of Home”. After reading, Rainie and Victoria taught kids how to crochet and Andrew and JiangYuan taught them how to do different origami crafts. Nathan and Rebecca taught the kids to make sand art while Jolynn taught the kids to make little bears out of clay. We also had people assisting anyone who wanted to make lucky stars. Although not many kids were present today, it was successful as each kid learned new stuff and tried different crafts.
