On November 1st, members of the Syosset AYLUS joined the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to assist with their support for local environmental initiatives. Volunteers used various tools to pull seeds out of stems to allow for a faster growth of the population. This process involves using a scraper, or hands to grind down thick plants to allow the seeds to fall out. Some volunteers also assisted with trimming fully developed seeds out of mature plants.
