AYLUS Roslyn volunteers at the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County’s Group Home (58th) on November 1st, 2025

On Saturday, November 1st, from 1:30 to 4:00 pm, members of AYLUS Roslyn visited the CP Nassau residents at their Mclean location. Volunteers began the day by baking bread with the residents. They measured and poured the ingredients, helped with mixing the dough, and shaped it before baking. Volunteers provided full assistance throughout the activity, as the residents required help with every step.

While the bread was being cooked, volunteers worked on making flowers with the residents, constructing flower bouquets with plastic straws and paper cutouts of flowers.

After baking, the group continued with bracelet making. Volunteers guided the residents by holding materials, threading beads, and securing the strings to complete the bracelets.

Next, Bingo was played with the residents, with volunteers helping mark the numbers and calling them out. The activity was followed by a few rounds of Uno, where volunteers handled the cards and explained each turn.

The visit concluded after all activities were completed and the area was cleaned up. Volunteers worked together to ensure the residents were fully supported throughout the session.

It was very nice and heartwarming to see the residents so happy and excited during these activities. We look forward to our next visit and another opportunity to bring smiles to the residents of CP Nassau!
