On October 25th, members of the Syosset AYLUS joined the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to assist with their support for local environmental initiatives. Volunteers used various tools to pull seeds out of a wheat like plant. This process involves using a scraper, or hands to grind down thick plants to allow the seeds to fall out. We also assisted with up-potting plants again, moving mature plants that have outgrown their small pots, to larger pots that could help with their growth. Some volunteers were also tasked with cleaning out a separate green house, and transporting plants.
