AYLUS Newtown and Gravity Hill Farm Potato Harvest

On Saturday October 25, 2025, from 9-11am, the Newtown Branch helped harvest potatoes from the Gravity Hill Farm.

We, the volunteers, helped on the Gravity Hill Farm in order to harvest sweet potatoes to aid the impoverished and unfortunate with our donation. For 2 hours, we bonded with the people helping out in the Gravity Hill Farm while putting diligence in our efforts to make sure the potatoes were in pristine condition when harvesting. Although the activity was tedious and repetitive at first, we slowly warmed up to truly put the work in as we realized the many people we could positively impact who did not have the same fortunate living conditions as us. In the end, we felt accomplished and satisfactory for our volunteering as we noticed how our labor contributed to something grand and pushed society as a whole to a greater direction.

Members who participated: Edward Soong (2 hours), Lawrence Fang (2 hours), Chris Louie (event leader) (2 hours)
