As the winter season approaches, the Aylus Morris Branch continued its dedication to serving the local community through a meaningful partnership with Helping Hands. Together, members organized a Winter Shoe Drive aimed at supporting families in need and ensuring that everyone can stay warm and comfortable during the colder months.
Over the past several weeks, Aylus members worked diligently to promote the collection within their neighborhoods, schools, and community centers. Their efforts resulted in an impressive total of 32 pairs of winter shoes, ranging from children’s sneakers to adult boots. Each donation was carefully inspected, cleaned, and packed by the volunteers to ensure that the items were in excellent condition and ready for use.
On October 26th at 2:00 PM, members of the Morris Branch personally delivered the collected shoes to the Helping Hands distribution site. The drop-off event served as a meaningful conclusion to the drive, allowing students to see firsthand the impact of their collective efforts. Through this initiative, volunteers not only provided essential winter gear but also learned valuable lessons about compassion, teamwork, and community involvement.
The Winter Shoe Drive reflects Aylus Morris Branch’s ongoing mission to promote youth leadership through community service. By collaborating with organizations like Helping Hands, Aylus members continue to create positive change and spread warmth—both literally and figuratively—throughout their community. This project highlights how small acts of kindness, when combined with teamwork and dedication, can make a significant difference in the lives of others.
