On October 5, 2025, members of AYLUS Syosset volunteered at the Chinese School at SUNY Old Westbury from 1:30–4:30 PM. Volunteers included Anderson Dong, Aiden Dong, Mia Xu, Erick Wu, Jason Li, Fiona Liu, and Vincent Liu. This week’s event coincided with the Moon Festival, giving students and teachers an opportunity to celebrate together. Volunteers helped hand out mooncakes, assisted teachers in the classrooms, and guided younger students through their lessons. Their presence ensured smooth classroom operations while creating a warm, festive atmosphere for all participants.
In addition to supporting education, this event allowed members to practice leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. By participating in cultural celebrations, volunteers also helped foster community spirit and cross-cultural awareness among students. The hands-on experience provided a meaningful way to give back while engaging in the rich traditions of the Moon Festival.
